Entry in the Central Register and Information on Economic Activity
Required documents:
CEIDG-1 application for entry into the CEIDG of the entrepreneur,
identity document (ID card, passport),
residence card together with the original of the decision granting the status of a foreigner in case the application is submitted by a foreign person referred to in Article 4 paragraph 2 or paragraph 4 or paragraph 5 of the Act on the rules of participation of foreign entrepreneurs and other foreign persons in economic turnover on the territory of the Republic of Poland).
The CEIDG-1 application for natural persons performing economic activity is at the same time:
an application for entry in the National Official Register of National Economic Entities (REGON);
an identification or update application to the head of the tax office (NIP);
a statement on the choice of the form of personal income taxation;
notification or change of notification of the payer of contributions to the Social Insurance Institution;
statement on continuation of social insurance for farmers.
Deadline and handling:
A natural person may apply for an entry in CEIDG:
electronically at www.ceidg.giv.pl – the application must be signed with a qualified electronic signature or trusted profile.
complete the application online and submit it to the office – submitting the application anonymously through CEIDG requires the applicant to visit the Municipality Office within 7 days of completing the application to confirm identity. The official finds the application in CEIDG by the application number, prints it and submits it to the applicant for signature. In this case, the day the application is submitted is the day the applicant signed the application at the office.
fill out the application over the phone and submit it to the office – the CEIDG-1 application can also be filled out over the phone. To do so, contact the helpline of the Entrepreneur Assistance Center (tel: 801 055 088 or22 765 67 32) and fill out the application together with the consultant. After the call, an SMS is sent with the application number, which is a working application and requires the applicant to visit the Municipality Office within 7 days of completing the application to confirm identity. The official finds the application in CEIDG by the application number, prints it and submits it to the applicant for signature. In this case, the day the application is submitted is the day the applicant signed the application at the office.
in person at the selected city or municipal office – the CEIDG-1 application can be submitted in paper form to the office. The official will confirm receipt of the application and, no later than the next day, enter the data from the application into the CEIDG system.
by a proxy – it is sufficient to grant a power of attorney in writing, which authorizes you to perform certain actions on your behalf.If you submit the application by a proxy, each time you submit a document confirming the granting of the power of attorney before the municipal authority, you will be subject to a stamp duty in the amount of PLN 17. If the power of attorney is granted to descendants, ascending family members, spouse or siblings, there is an exemption from stamp duty. The application shall be accompanied by the original or an officially certified copy of the power of attorney, in accordance with Article 33 § 3 of the Code of Administrative Procedure. send by registered mail- the completed CEIDG-1 application can be sent by registered mail. If the application is sent by registered mail, it should bear the applicant’s handwritten signature certified by a notary public.
The municipal authority converts the application into the form of an electronic document and sends it to the CEIDG no later than the next business day after receiving it. If the application is incorrect – the municipal authority calls for its correction or supplementation indicating the deficiencies, within 7 working days under pain of leaving the application unrecognized.
On the basis of the submitted application, an entry is published on the website of the Minister of Economy: www.firma.gov.pl, which can be printed at any time. Data and information made available on the CEIDG website are public.
Suspension of economic activity
Before submitting an application for suspension of economic activity to CEIDG:
plan from what date the suspension is to take place
decide whether you want to suspend your activity indefinitely or for a definite period of time.
The start date of the suspension may coincide with the date of submission of the application, but you can also indicate a date earlier or later than the submission of the application. Consider whether the chosen date conflicts with the activities you have performed or plan to perform as an entrepreneur. Also check what Social Security and tax implications are associated with the suspension start date you have chosen.
The period of suspension is up to you, but it cannot be shorter than 30 days. If you indicate the date of resumption in your suspension application, your business will be resumed on the selected date, without the need to submit additional.
